It’s Not Always About Finding A Significant Other- The Brothers Hawthorne Spoilers!
Spoilers Ahead!
I am a big (this word in itself is an understatement) fan of The Inheritance Games Series (let’s keep my favourite brother a secret) And while I am on the fourth and what seems to be the final book of the series, I realized that it’s not always about finding the significant other, as we see in most of the YA novels these days. Well yes, who ain’t a sucker for a good ship? I technically scream every time there is a mention of my favourite ships but let’s talk about Grayson.
Grayson has finally found a reason to live his life happily and it’s none other than his half-sisters. I mean this guy went through so much. the heir apparent who was never allowed to make mistakes, always had to be calculated, never got to live life carefree — has finally SOMETHING GOOD HAPPENING IN HIS LIFE, and it’s not a romantic partner.
This book is about him bonding with his younger sisters. Gigi and Grayson are the Sunshine x Grumpy sibling duo we didn’t know we were looking for until it was right in front of us!!
The past books were all about how he went through shittiest times in his life. I mean knowing that you are the heir to the throne your grandfather will be leaving just to be de-throne by a random girl. And it just doesn't stop there.
There was a line where it was written:
That’s what Grayson had been to his father — all that he had been. A risk.
And it got me thinking how he had to go through the worst every single time. First being in love with someone who played him, then not being the heir. But that just doesn't end here. He loved the girl who was in love with his brother and his brother loved her too. Him discovering how his father had him just as a revenge. Nothing in his life was going in his favour and then entered Gigi and Savanah.
And this is when I realised that it ain’t necessary to find a lover; that it’s not always the end goal. Sometimes your dull life can be brightened up by family. Gigi in so many ways is the female version of Xander and the way Grayson always listens to Xan’s nonsensical things is similar to how he treats his sister.
I still haven't finished it so I don’t know if we will be getting a significant other for Gray but I think that now that he has Gigi, all the dullness in his life will end. I am writing this because there aren't enough spaces in the book where I can write how I feel and I think this is the best idea!
The only thing sad at this point is that he cannot let his sisters know that tehri father is dead. Because it will put Avery in Jeopardy. And Grayson has already done it once, he would never do that again. And with that I have another thing to say; why fictional men are so fucking perfect? I mean HE LOVED AVERY but she is with HIS BROTHER and still he is keeping her safe?? I MEAN HELLOW! This is why we can never be happy because no man will ever be like Grayson or Nash, or Jamie or Nate (One of us is lying) These authors will be the death of us!!
