Today marks one year since I entered these red walls where once Iqbal entered as a freshman, one year since I sat in the classrooms where once Bano Qudsia used to sit, one year since I walked in the garden where once Faiz walked.
And in this one year I have learned great things, discovered much about myself. I have seen many ups and downs and I have evolved in my life. Just one year,.... What a year can do to a man. I have seen people coming in my life as a blessing. I have studied under the wing of some extraordinary teachers who are one true assest for me.
Over the year I changed my political thinking and I finally knew where I stand. This institution is not just giving me a degree in BA Hons English Literature, but also helping me to shape myself better and better. And here I just want to Thank my parents, Grandparents who prayed for me to get admission in GC, and then there is my Best Friend who, from the very first day told me to choose GC over any other institution that I submitted my form in. (Obviously except for PU because it was my dream to be Pioneer. Well, I could never have gotten admission there....)
The very best thing about GC is that it is not just about the curricular but they groom you intellectually as well. You enter as a coal but leave as a diamond. My inspiration are not just my teachers but my friends as well. I have many friends who inspire me, motivates me and help me to groom.
Lastly, I have some of the best friends here in university. The one who I made on this exact same day is KHAZIMA FATIMA. And, let me tell you about her. I am so proud be identified as her Friend, so proud to have this opportunity to know the person who is beautiful by heart, intellectual by brain, perfect by face and sane to my peace. People entered my life and left but she is the one who stayed with me even though I changed my minors just after a week university started. She is the one who gave me the hugs I needed when I had mental breakdowns, listened to my pathetic writings and applauded, motivated me to write, helped me to forget about the people who donā€™t think me worthy enough. I am so proud of her and I want you all to say MashAllah because nazar is so real and I donā€™t want to lose this precious gem ever in my life.
And lastly, I want to thank those who taught me the lessons I never expected, who gave me so many topics to write on, who helped me to realize that crying for weeks and hours for them is not worthy enough.
THANK YOU GOVERNMENT COLLEGE UNIVERSITY LAHORE. YOU WILL ALWAYS BE THE LOVE OF MY LIFE I WILL NEVER FORGETā¤šŸ„€
