Self Control Before and After 7th October!
Never knew I’d be learning self-control because of a massacre; a massacre of the people of Gaza to be precise. Islam teaches us self-control and there are three stages of it. Self-control is a very hard thing because it includes being away and avoiding the things you hold dear, in very simple terms. So, what does self-control have to do anything with the 7th Of October? Let me tell you, for me it has everything to do with that day. But let’s just start with the day when I watched the news on national television that Hammas (the resistance force in Palestine I fully support) attacked occupied Palestine and for a few hours I thought maybe this is the day we get to see Palestine liberated.
I have been looking at the bodies of the people of Palestine being brutally mutilated way before 7th October 2023. For the world, this might be the first time they heard about this unjust oppression in Gaza, but for the majority of us, it wasn’t the first time. I thought that finally Hammas got enough power to kick the oppressors out of their state and soon we’ll see a liberated Palestine. Soon we’ll see Al-Aqsa, Dome of the Rock without the military all around them. But oh that night everything changed. Maybe for the good or for the bad. But now that I think there’s nothing good because even though this massacre has garnered the attention of the entire world we still cannot do anything about it. And we see a nuclear war happening in front of us LIVE…. And if that doesn’t send goosebumps down your spine I don’t think anything ever can!!!
For the longest time every Muharram (the first lunar month of Islam) I thought about how Muslims back in 61 Hijri watched Karbala happen right in front of their eyes. Hussain ﻉ along with his 71 companions (which included his 13,12,11 years old nephews, and his six-month-old son) were brutally massacred in Karbala- their bodies mutilated to the point nobody could tell which hand belonged to which body. They died thirsty (It’s reported that the water reservoirs they had were finished on 7th Muharram but most people say that Hussain ﻉ and Abbas ﻉ stopped drinking water way before that day.)as the forces of Yazid, son of Muawiyah blocked their access to Euphrates.
It wasn’t until I saw the atrocities happening in Gaza and the Muslim ummah watching it unfold that I knew exactly how people let Karbala happen. That was just one Karbala but we have been watching Karbala happen each day ever since October 7th, which makes it a total of 181 Days. The oppressors tried to get sympathy by saying that the resistance r@ped women, b3headed babies, and whatnot without ever giving a single evidence of that. But as we see today, if not everyone at least half the people are standing with Gaza. And this is where my story of self-control starts. The world started getting all the brands, that are in any way related to the Apartied State and America (because this G-cide is directly being funded by this country.), on the boycott list.
And here’s my take on the self-control journey before and after October 7th. I am now boycotting every American product that had a big influence in my life or any brand that has any ties to that apartheid state. But, it just doesn’t stop here. I have stopped following the big names who can really make a difference and educate the world if they speak about the innocent Gazans. And that includes Ms Swift (Yes Taylor)!!
Nobody is obligated to do this you say? You are wrong
Because if you are a feminist and you are still silent on this matter you are nothing but a hypocrite.
If you are a human rights activist yet haven’t spoken a word about the barbaric things happening in Gaza you are nothing but a hypocrite.
If you shouted at the top of your lungs about School shootings, BLM, and rigged elections, yet stayed silent on this matter you are a hypocrite.
And if you say you’re with you are with Gaza yet you support all those who are in any way a part of funding the Apartied State or benefiting from its economy YOU ARE A BLOODY HYPOCRITE!!
Every time I want to go back to these things and people all I think is that these people are still dying and the Governments are still staying silent. Don’t come and tell me where am I wrong or what am I not thinking rationally because there’s nothing rational or strategic when it comes to another HOLOCAUST!
AND DO NOT FOR A SECOND THINK THAT YOU ARE SAFE, YOUR COUNTRY IS SAFE. IT WILL BE THE MIDDLE EAST FIRST AND THEN THEY ARE GOING TO COME TO US AS WELL! You might call me a little girl with overwhelming emotions but I don’t give a fuck at this point.
